Depot I from Újezd
The Depot I Újezd (also hoard I Újezd ) is a hoard of Early Bronze Age Unetice culture of Újezd , a district of Albrechtice nad Vltavou in Jihočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates to between 1800 and 1600 BC. The objects that have survived from the depot are now in the Museum of Týn nad Vltavou .
Find history
The depot was first mentioned in 1953. The exact date of the find is unknown. It was discovered west of Újezd in the forest near the rubble ditch in a quarry. The site is on the edge of the summit plateau of the Na Skalce mountain . Another deposit was discovered just 45 m away, but it dates back to the Middle Bronze Age.
composition
The depot had been deposited as a bundle. This contained around 20 bronze bars , but only 15 of them ended up in the museum. Six of these are completely preserved and nine have been recently damaged. The bars have a rounded back. The ends are usually spoon-shaped. The length of the undamaged specimens is between 298 mm and 308 mm and the weight between 106 g and 129 g.
