Depot I from Prague-Liboc

The depot I from Prague-Liboc (also Hortfund I from Prague-Liboc ) is a depot find of the Early Bronze Age Aunjetitz culture from Liboc , a district of Prague , Czech Republic . It dates to between 1800 and 1600 BC. The depot is now in the National Museum in Prague.

Find history

The depot was discovered before 1900. The exact circumstances of the find are unknown. The site is located on the spur of the Džibán mountain. There was a Bronze Age hill settlement there .

It is one of numerous depot finds from the urban area of ​​Prague. Two further depots ( II and III ) and several individual bronze objects from the Aunjetitz culture were found in Liboc .

composition

The depot consists of ten miniature clips made of sheet bronze . Their original length was between 120 mm and 142 mm, their weight between 2 g and 7 g. The clasps are a little wider in the middle and at the ends.
