Depot III of Prague-Liboc

The Custodian III of Prague-Liboc (also hoard III of Prague-Liboc ) is a hoard of Early Bronze Age Unetice culture of Liboc , a district of Prague , Czech Republic . It dates between 2000 and 1800 BC. The depot is now in the National Museum in Prague.

Find history

The depot was first mentioned in 1898. The date of the find and the exact circumstances of the find are unknown. It was discovered on the “Špičatá skála” under a boulder.

It is one of numerous depot finds from the urban area of ​​Prague. Two further depots ( I and II ) and several individual bronze objects from the Aunjetitz culture were found in Liboc .

composition

The depot consists of several gold objects : two by two connected spiral rings made of double wire, four individual spiral rings made of double wire, three higher spirals (two of which are made of double wire and one is made of single wire), a spiral ring made of thick, simple wire and three deformed wires . The total weight of the items is over 340 g and was originally even higher because the ends of some items have broken off.
