Vodňany Depot I

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Depot I Vodňany (also hoard I Vodňany ) is a hoard of Early Bronze Age Unetice culture of Vodňany in Jihočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates between 2000 and 1800 BC. The preserved items from the depot are now in the Vodňany Museum.

Find history

The depot was discovered in 1932 northeast of Vodňany during regulation work on the north bank of the Blanice River . A second deposit from Vodňany dates back to the Middle Bronze Age. However, both sites are 4 km apart, so a connection can be ruled out.

composition

The depot originally consisted of 18 bronze eyelet neck rings or ring bars . Only three of these have survived. They have tapered hook-shaped ends and have a deep groove in places on the inside.
