Vraný Depot I.

The custodian of Vraný I (also hoard I of Vraný ) is a hoard of Early Bronze Age Unetice culture of Vraný in Středočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates between 2000 and 1800 BC. The depot is now in the Slaný Museum .

Find history

The depot was discovered east of Vraný in 1953 during an archaeological excavation on a Bronze Age fortified hilltop settlement . The depot was in a small pit. The settlement lies on a small ridge north of the Vranský potok . Another depot and several individual finds of bronze objects from the Aunjetitz culture come from Vraný .

composition

The depot consists of a total of 15 bronze wire rings that form several hangers. The first consists of a ring of double wire with a wire cuff with three smaller rings hanging from it. The second is a small ring of simple wire with three similar, smaller rings hanging from it. The third is a small ring of simple wire with two similar, smaller rings hanging from it. A fourth pendulum consists of two connected small rings made of simple wire. There are also two single rings made of double wire, one of which was deformed in prehistoric times.
