The gulp

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gulp is a pre-school and elementary school child-friendly bedtime story from 1973 in cartoon form .

Childhood books from the 1960s often dealt with the topics of space , rockets or moon landings . This "space fever" was triggered by the first attempts by the Soviets to penetrate into space with unmanned rockets from 1957.

The idea for this children's fairy tale also comes from this era. "Der Gulp" is a boy who lives on a very small planet and always plays with a ball there. If this falls down, it lands on earth. There the gulp quickly finds friends and experiences all kinds of adventures.

A single episode, episode 7 from June 10, 1973, is available to the Austrian Advertising Museum . In it, the gulp is playing with his friend on earth, who has a flower pot falling on his head, and they have to go to the hospital. In the meantime, the Gulp gets the idea to crawl into the X-ray machine. While his Earth friend is being treated, another doctor notices the great inner life of the alien boy and wants to keep the gulp immediately; But he can still tower with his earth friend and flies back to his small planet.
