Veli Lampi (born July 18, 1984 in Seinäjoki ) is a Finnish football player .

Career

The defender moved in January 2007 from the Finnish Veikkausliiga from HJK Helsinki to FC Zurich . Lampi has already made several appearances in the Finnish national football team . In winter 2009 Lampi moved on loan from FC Zurich to FC Aarau, where he was supposed to help as a right defender to keep FC Aarau from relegation. After relegation to the Challenge League , he moved to the Dutch honorary division Willem II for the 2010/11 season , with whom he also had to fight for relegation. After only one year in the Netherlands, Lampi moved to Premjer-Liha at Arsenal Kiev . In early 2014, Lampi returned to HJK Helsinki.

National team

Lampi was already considered a great Finnish talent in his youth. He was already used in the U-16 team in his home country and from then on it would be impossible to imagine any youth team in his home country without him. He went through all the Finnish youth national teams and finally made his debut on January 21, 2006 in a 1-1 away draw against Saudi Arabia , when he was on the field for eight minutes. He also played both games in the 2010 World Cup qualifying against Germany (3: 3 and 1: 1).
