The Canadian
Der Kanadier was an English- and French-language weekly newspaper of the Canadian Armed Forces in Europe that appeared from 1970 to 1994 and had its editorial office in Lahr / Black Forest ( ISSN 0175-6346 ).
Their predecessors were The Arrowhead Tribune ( Marville 1957-67, Lahr 1967-70, ISSN 1434-5528 ) and The Black Forest ( Baden-Baden 1967-70), and The Beaver ( Soest 1957-70) on the part of the land forces . The circulation was about 7,000, at the time of the Gulf War up to 10,000 pieces. The editors-in-chief were Frank Kohler (1971–88) and Brenda Van Vliet (1988–94). At times the newspaper had up to 19 employees.
