The Republican was a Swiss magazine that was published from May 1961 to December 1978 by James Schwarzenbach and printed by Thomas Verlag in Zurich. It was the communication organ of the Swiss Republican Movement . From 1970 to 1978 she was the personal mouthpiece of James Schwarzenbach. With one exception, all of the leading articles were written by him.

History of publication

The Republican had several predecessors. He was published under James Schwarzenbach from May 1961 (year 45, no.1) to April 1964 (year 48, no.18) and from November 1970 (year 49, no.1) to December 1978 (year 57, no.14) . Ulrich Schlüer continued to run the magazine almost seamlessly in 1979 as a Swiss time .
