The jewelry channel was a German teleshopping broadcaster based in Düsseldorf , which broadcast its television programs digitally every day via the Astra satellite system. Jewelery, watches, chains, precious stones and jewels in all variants were offered. The daily broadcast time was 24 hours, of which 16 hours were produced and broadcast live. There was also the option of receiving it via an Internet live stream . The station began broadcasting on November 16, 2006.
On October 15, 2008, the broadcaster filed for bankruptcy at the Düsseldorf District Court. On January 16, 2009, regular broadcasting was stopped for the time being; program information was broadcast in a loop as well as teleshopping . Since mid-April 2009 its own program has been broadcast by the hour again, although according to the production company and the new partner, DFA , the station is still insolvent. The derschmuckkanal.de website is still accessible, but only contains a station logo and the imprint. It is currently (as of June 2014) not clear whether the broadcast will continue.
Since 2009, the station has shared a channel with Douglas TV.
Sales principle
The products can only be purchased while they are being presented by the moderator at a fixed price. The previously valid principle of a descending auction with falling prices no longer applies.
