The Path to Financial Freedom is a non-fiction book from 1998 that was first published by Campus Verlag . It describes strategies for wealth accumulation and gives advice on dealing with money, saving, investing and beliefs on the subject of "getting rich".

The book became a bestseller, introduced the German author and speaker Bodo Schäfer and has been translated into more than 20 languages.

The book has 309 pages and is divided into an initial part with analysis, two main parts and an outlook.

Edition

In 2002 the German-language edition had a circulation of 2.5 million copies. The book was also published in other languages.

After the book was published, the author published other books such as A Dog Called Money (Lentz Verlag) , Wohlstand ohne Stress (Campus Verlag) or The Laws of Winners (Frankfurter Allgemeine Buch), which also achieved a large circulation.

In the discourse-defining book Generation Golf , the book is characterized as the "ultimate bestseller of our generation".

The FAZ ascribes a pioneering role to the author and the book: "Everyone copied it and prayed it from the only legitimate master of mice: from Bodo Schäfer. With his bestseller The Path to Financial Freedom , he advanced to the undisputed prophet Mammons." The book is also rated: " The way to financial freedom from financial coach Bodo Schäfer gives useful tips. Without brainwashing, however, no success."
