The white ring denotes a ski circuit in the Lech am Arlberg ski area as well as the longest ski race in the world on it.

organization

For the 50th anniversary of the ski circuit, the first ski race was held in the 2005/2006 season.

The ski circuit extends over several runs and lifts. It covers a total length of almost 22 km and overcomes a total of 5,500 meters in altitude. The basic idea for this goes back to the skier and engineer Josef "Sepp" Bildstein and begins with the commissioning of the first drag lift in the winter of 1940/41. In autumn 2009 the editor of the Guinness Book of Records confirmed that the “White Ring” is the longest ski race in the world.

The course record is 44:10:75 minutes and has been held by Markus Weiskopf since 2010.

On January 14, 2012, the race, for which 1,000 starting places were allocated, took place for the seventh time.

Many well-known names were already at the start of this race with Josef “Pepi” Strobl , Patrick Ortlieb , Harti Weirather , Marc Girardelli , Tom Stiansen , Andreas Goldberger and David Coulthard .
