All matches in the Primeira Liga
The following table lists all league games in which the two teams met.
|
|
1 The home game of Benfica in the 1951/52 season is rated 2: 3 for Sporting in the season article on RSSSF and Footballderbies.com , while the Portuguese sports newspaper Record rates the result 3: 2 for Benfica and in this form also by the Home game statistics of the competition newspaper A Bola confirmed (each with their derby edition on Sunday, April 21, 2013). Because the derby statistics in these editions only include the home games of Benfica, the author of these lines does not have any data on the home game statistics of Sporting. However, it can be assumed that the game at Sporting in the 1951/52 season is to be rated differently than at RSSSF and Footballderbies.com (each with a 2: 3 away win), because the information in the final table is reproduced accordingly can. Accordingly, both teams have probably won their home game 3-2 (instead of losing 3-2), which has been taken into account here.

Taça de Portugal
Because the home law is partly contradictory in the databases and cup finals are usually played on neutral courts, Benfica is always named first in the table below, regardless of the actual home law. Most of the time, the next round was decided in just one game, while qualifying for the next round in some seasons was decided in a round trip, with occasionally a third playoff was required. The respective background color of the result field is red if Benfica was able to prevail and green if Sporting was successful, regardless of the respective individual results.
