Derek Lam
Derek Lam (born March 25, 1966 in San Francisco , California ) is an American fashion designer .
Life
Derek Lam was born in the USA and lived in Hong Kong for a few years in the 1990s . His parents are both of Chinese descent, the father comes from the People's Republic and the mother from Hong Kong.

After graduating from Parson's School of Design in 1990, he worked as a designer for the American fashion label Michael Kors and for an Asian clothing brand. In 2002 he founded his own label called Derek Lam and has since presented his collections every season at New York Fashion Week , the largest fashion shows in the USA. It wasn't until the 2004 season that Lam gained greater fame. His clothes are worn by Sharon Stone , among others .
