Derya Uluğ (born February 21, 1986 in Izmir ) is a Turkish pop singer.

biography

Early years

Uluğ was born in 1986 in Izmir as one of four siblings and grew up there. Her father works with textiles, her mother is a housewife. At the age of eight she won a singing competition organized by a radio station. At the age of nine she first attended a music school , where she learned to play the violin , among other things . In her youth she appeared as a soloist at various concerts. As a 16-year-old Uluğ finally received piano lessons .

She graduated from the Muğla Üniversitesi with a degree in violin, then graduated from the Conservatory of the Haliç Üniversitesi. Later she was a vocalist for Ebru Gündeş for three years , after which she stopped working with Gündeş to record her own album.

Career

She had her first success in 2016 with Okyanus . The single was clicked over 100 million times on the Internet platform YouTube and was awarded gold by the Doğan Music Company. Her subsequent single Canavar was also successful.
