Desboulmiers
Jean-Auguste Jul (l) ien , called Desboulmiers (* 1731 in Paris , † 1771 ibid) was a French writer and librettist.
Desboulmiers embarked on a military career as a young man and temporarily served in Germany. On his return to Paris he became known as an opera librettist. Toinon and Toinette were initially set to music by François-Joseph Gossec (premiered 1767), later in the Polish translation by Andrzej Slowaczynski by Maciej Kamieński (1785) and Wiktor Każyński (around 1840).
He also wrote two extensive works on opera and theater history: the seven-volume Histoire anecdotique et raisonnée du Théâtre-Italien, depuis son rétablissement (1697) jusqu'à l'anée and the Histoire du théâtre de'l Opéra-comique (both 1769) , as well as some novels such as De tout un peu , Histoire du marquis de Solanges and Histoire des filles du 18e siècle .
