Descend was a Greek death and thrash metal band from Athens , which was founded in 1989 under the name Epidemic and disbanded around 1998.
history
The band was founded in 1989 under the name Epidemic by drummer Dimitris Soldatos and bassist and singer Jimmy Morphis. After the band had developed some songs, the first appearances followed, including an appearance as the opening act for Sacred Reich in Athens in 1990. In 1991, Artificial Peace, the first EP was released. This was followed by other appearances, including a concert in London in 1993 , another in 1993 with Kreator and in 1994 in Cyprus . In the same year, the album Industrial was released on the German label Soundphaze International Records . In 1996 Nick Laskos joined the band as a guitarist.
In 1998 the band changed their name to Descend and Harry Kodakos joined the line-up as the second guitarist. The band then worked on new songs and signed a contract with Black Lotus Records . The album Beyond Thy Realm of Throes was released on this label in 1998. Their first appearance under the name Descend held the band on September 27, 1998 in Athens as opening act for Death . The band has now disbanded.

The band played classic thrash metal under the name Epidemic. With their name change, the band came closer to death metal musically.
