Detlev Quandt
Detlev "Delle" Quandt (* around 1950; † 1991 in the Canary Islands, Spain ) was a German actor.
Life
Detlev Quandt ran Dortmund's first organic shop, “Grasblatt”, in the 1970s when Adolf Winkelmann offered him the leading role in his film Die Abfahrer . Winkelmann, who at that time often worked with amateur actors, liked Quandt's acting talent as well as the fact that he occasionally worked as a truck driver for Hoesch AG. For the role of Atze , who steals a moving van in the road movie Die Abfahrer and drives it through the area, a not insignificant qualification.
Due to the great success of this "Ruhrgebiet film" and the personal friendship between Quandt and Winkelmann that had developed during the shooting, Detlev Quandt agreed to play the leading role again in Winkelmann's follow-up production A Lot of Coal . As a miner Katlewski , he breaks out of his role-conforming life and starts looking for a new life plan. In the film Katlewski utters the sentence "The day comes when the saw wants to saw." , who has since enjoyed a certain popularity in the Ruhr area and the surrounding area.
With the two Winkelmann films, Quandt had earned a certain degree of popularity nationwide as an independent actor from the Ruhr area. Nevertheless, the "hippie and positive freak" (quote from Winkelmann) had no further ambitions in the film business. Immediately after the completion of the shooting, Detlev Quandt and his partner left in a packed Land Rover for the Canary Islands, where they subsequently settled. He is said to have run a beach café on site. In 1991 Quandt died surprisingly at the age of 41 on La Palma (Canary Islands).
