Detritus (medicine)
As detritus ( latin detritus waste ") is referred to in medicine in cell and tissue destruction resulting slurry, structureless and mostly fatty masses. Detritus can occur with death ( necrosis ) or inflammation- related purulent melting of cell aggregates such as abscesses or in the depressions of the tonsils in chronic tonsillitis ( tonsillitis ). However, this must not be misinterpreted as acute tonsillitis, since the development of the detritus is also a normal physiological process.
