The Detroit Plateau is a large high plateau with an altitude of 1500  m to 1800  m in the middle of the Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . At the north-eastern end it is bounded by the southern flank of the Russell West Glacier , from which it extends over a distance of around 145 km in a mainly south-westerly direction to the Herbert Plateau .

It was discovered by the Australian polar explorer Hubert Wilkins on his Antarctic flight on December 20, 1928. Wilkins named it Detroit Aviation Society Plateau after the company that supported his Antarctic expedition. The name that is common today was later adopted. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey mapped the northern and eastern areas of the plateau from 1946 to 1947.
