Dettenroden is a small town near Röhlingen and belongs to the town of Ellwangen .
After the first day laborers and farmers settled here at the beginning of the 14th century, Dettenroden was first mentioned in 1339. Until the 19th century the place was under various feudal lords, from 1361 to 1431 the knights of Pfahlheim , until 1543 the lords of Ahelfingen . Until 1802 Dettenroden was finally a fiefdom of the prince provost of Ellwangen , before it became part of the community of Röhlingen . In 1972 the place was finally incorporated into Ellwangen .
