German-Polish Academic Society

The German-Polish Academic Society eV (DPAG) is a non-profit association founded in Kiel in April 1996 and a partner organization of the Polish-German Academic Society ( Polish Polsko-Niemieckie Towarzystwo Akademickie (PNTA) ) founded in May 1993 in Krakow .

Both organizations serve science and education in the spirit of international understanding, in order to contribute to the rapprochement between Germans and Poles in the academic field.

The German-Polish Academic Society was founded on the initiative of former German scholarship holders of the Polish organization.

DPAG has gained experience in the following areas:

  • in awarding semester grants for study visits and language courses in Poland in cooperation with PNTA,
  • in the implementation of seminars, discussions and scientific conferences,
  • in the implementation of intensive language courses for students, professionals and retirees in cooperation with PNTA in Krakow.

The board of directors has relocated to Berlin. In the year 2002 a new statute was passed, which corresponds to the requirements with regard to the public benefit.

Language courses in both languages ​​are offered.

The Polish language courses are offered in adult education centers throughout Germany . In addition, PNTA organizes two-week intensive language courses in Cracow in spring and autumn, and there are also Polish summer courses at some Polish universities.

The German language courses also take place in adult education centers. In Berlin, the Berlinek language school runs German courses especially for adult Poles.
