German action days sustainability
The German Sustainability Action Days were launched by the German Council for Sustainable Development in 2012 on the occasion of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro .
During the campaign days in 2015, for example, there were guided tours through the environmental center in Tübingen, the sustainability of paper cups was discussed in Stuttgart, in many places suitable energy-saving menus were offered for the 2000-watt society and in Karlsruhe there was information on waste and to the mobility concept.
Development of participation over time
- 2012: more than 270 projects
- 2013: more than 260 events
- 2014: more than 250 promotions
- 2015: 1,204 projects, of which 754 were in Baden-Württemberg, 110 in North Rhine-Westphalia and 68 in Berlin
- In 2016, the action days will take place from May 30th to June 5th and on March 3rd / 4th June in Baden-Württemberg

Development in Baden-Württemberg
The sustainability days in Baden-Württemberg took place for the first time in April 2012 under the motto “off to the future” and were initially planned to be every two years.
In 2013 there was a sustainability tour in Baden-Württemberg, which stopped on one day each in the three cities of Freiburg, Heidelberg and Ulm.
In 2015, the sustainability days in Baden-Württemberg took place for the first time as part of the German Action Days.

In 2012, the action days in Baden-Württemberg started with 400 actions, in 2014 there were almost 500 and in 2015 875 actions took place.

Development in Europe
The German Sustainability Action Days 2015 took place as part of the European Sustainability Week, an initiative launched by Germany, France and Austria. 4,100 projects in 29 countries were registered.
