The German Association of Sports Museums, Sports Archives and Sports Collections (DAGS) is an association of sports museums , archives and private collections in Germany. It has the legal form of a registered association with its seat in Cologne .

DAGS was founded in 2003 at the German Sport University Cologne , initiated by sports historian Karl Lennartz , among others . The association has around 70 members, including the German Rifle Museum , the Lower Saxony Institute for Sports History , but also private collectors. The current chairman is the association historian of the German Shooting Federation , Stefan Grus .

An important task of the DAGS is, among other things, advising sports organizations on archiving their documents and helping them transfer their files to public archives.
