The German China Society is an association to promote relations with China in Germany.

history

DCG was founded in 1957, making it the oldest German company in China. At first it consisted primarily of scientists, politicians and diplomats who were concerned with establishing diplomatic relations with China and long-term development of German-Chinese relations. The purpose at the time was to establish diplomatic relations, but the DCG was and is politically independent. It finances its events and publications from donations and membership fees.

In the early years, the focus of their engagement was Hamburg. Today most of the DCG events take place in Cologne and Karlsruhe. Regardless of this, the company is in principle involved nationwide.

In 2017 the company celebrated its 60th anniversary.
