The German Society for Nutritional Medicine e. V. ( DGEM ) is a multidisciplinary association of all professional groups that deal with nutritional medicine . Its aim is to promote nutritional medicine and metabolic research in science and practice.

history

The association emerged in 1991 in Göttingen from the merger of the Association for Artificial Nutrition eV (DAKE) founded in 1981 with two other societies (the Parenteral and Tube Nutrition Section of the Society for Nutrition of the GDR and the German Working Group for Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics ).

The association is a member of the Working Group of Scientific Medical Societies (AWMF).
