The German Society for Hand Surgery ( DGH ) is the association of mainly in the Federal Republic of Germany hand surgery operating surgeons , plastic surgeons , trauma surgeons and orthopedists .

tasks

The DGH organizes an annual congress to promote science and research. A hand trauma register is currently being set up in order to optimize the long-term care of (seriously) injured hands. In addition to the DGH's own research projects, the company’s website offers the possibility of coordinating clinical research projects in the field of hand surgery.

Further training in the field of hand surgery is carried out through further training seminars held twice a year and supported by third party sponsorships for further training events. Conferences and seminars are actively supported by members of the DGH in cooperation with other medical societies and with the statutory accident insurance.

The German Society for Hand Surgery is working on the creation of medical-scientific guidelines for the generally accessible, transparent presentation of the hand surgery standard and is a member of the Working Group of Scientific Medical Societies (AWMF).

In addition to cooperation with other hand surgery specialist societies at the international level (and with the European Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand and the International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand ), there is constant contact with the other national representatives through delegates surgical societies.

The purpose of the company is also to educate the general public about therapy options for congenital and acquired changes in shape, functional disorders, diseases and injuries to the upper extremities as an area of ​​public health.
