Extract from the statutes on the purpose of the association

The association promotes science and research, particularly in the field of mass spectrometry. The cooperation as well as the exchange of ideas and experiences between the scientists and practitioners working in the specialist fields should be cultivated. The interest in mass spectrometry and related techniques as well as knowledge about them should be conveyed to other specialist groups. It continues the traditions of the three above. Groups of origin continued.
