The German Society for Nuclear Medicine (DGN) is a scientific specialist society that has set itself the goal of promoting nuclear medicine in basic and applied research in the fields of diagnostics, therapy and radiation protection . Members are predominantly doctors specializing in nuclear medicine and other disciplines as well as natural and engineering scientists.

A scientific conference is held annually at different locations.

The organ of the professional society together with the ÖGN (Austrian Society for Nuclear Medicine) and the SGN (Swiss Society for Nuclear Medicine) is the journal "nuklearmedizin", in which peer-reviewed scientific articles are published, mainly in English, but also in German and French.

The DGN is a member of the Working Group of Scientific Medical Societies (AWMF).
