German University (magazine)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German University was the association journal of the (liberal-Jewish) Burschenbunds-Convent.

history

In 1909, Oskar Scheuer initiated the papers for German national free-thinking color students in Austria . They appeared in October 1910. After the Burschenbunds-Convent was founded , they became the association magazine published by the Convent's elders' committee. From year IX (1919) it was called the journal of the national-liberal student body , from year X (1920) the journal of the national-liberal student body in German Austria and Germany . From 1920 to year XII (1922) it was named Organ des Burschenbunds-Convents . The year 1923 - at the time of the German inflation 1914 to 1923  - was canceled. Only short hectographed corporation reports were sent to members of the BC . That is why the series of years was not counted any further in that year. In May 1924, the 1/3 issue opened the XIII. Vintage. From 1924 the subtitle was called the magazine of the Burschenbunds-Convents (BC) and the German national-liberal student body . The editor was Oskar Scheuer from grades I – XV. From then on, Scheuer was chief editor and medical officer Dr. Richard Friedländer responsible editor. The periodical was published monthly with 16 pages each in the format 22½ × 28½. Advertisements were printed on 3-4 pages. The edition was 2000 pieces.
