The German war cemetery Podgorica is located in the city of Podgorica in Montenegro on a military site not far from Golubovci Airport . It is a collective cemetery for (as of 2016) 64 German soldiers who died in World War II .

The Second World War was a war of aggression by the Germans, against which the partisans in Montenegro also turned. The fallen soldiers were killed in World War II almost exclusively in combat with partisans . The Germans carried out cruel reprisals against the civilian population. This war cemetery is a memorial for peace.

The war cemetery is located in the northern area of ​​the “Golubovci” military airport on a military site. Access is therefore only possible with a valid passport. The property is located almost immediately next to the Podgorica civil airport.

The cemetery has been laid out and inaugurated by the Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge since 2016 . It consists of four grave blocks, which allow an occupancy of 800 grave sites. 64 dead were embedded in block 2 in 2016. Fallen from around 200 different grave sites in Montenegro can be reburied there. A circular memorial with a two meter high cross is framed by a semicircular wall with 29 name plaques. On these boards are listed 2500 dead from the two world wars in the area of ​​today's Montenegro, who were missing. The area is surrounded by a cypress hedge.
