The German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine eV (DGKL), formerly the German United Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine , is a medical-scientific specialist society. It was created in 2003 from the merger of the German Society for Clinical Chemistry and the German Society for Laboratory Medicine. Your seat is Bonn . The DGKL is a member of the Working Group of Scientific Medical Societies ( AWMF ).

The purpose of the company is to represent, promote and develop clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine in research, teaching and patient care, including pathobiochemistry and molecular genetic diagnostics, and to unite those who work in these fields on a scientific basis, especially doctors and natural scientists. It carries out measures which are intended to improve and ensure the quality of laboratory diagnostic tests.

The association is the founder of the “Biochemical Analysis” prize and awards it for exceptional achievements in the fields of biochemical and molecular analysis, clinical chemistry and molecular medicine . The prize has been awarded to 28 scientists since 1970, five of whom later also won the Nobel Prize . It is endowed with 50,000 euros. The Felix Hoppe Seyler Prize is endowed with 10,000 euros for scientific achievements and merits in the field of clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine .
