The German Dog Sports Association (dhv) is an association of dog sports associations founded in 1977 that are based in Germany. According to the statutes, the dhv is based in Marburg and was entered in the register of associations of the Marburg District Court on July 28, 1977. The dhv is a member of the Association for German Dogs (VDH).
At his delegates' meeting on May 28, 2000 in Frankfurt, he decided on “Ethical principles for the training of dogs and dog sport in the dhv”, which are also anchored in its statutes.
It is of particular importance in the preparation and implementation of events (exams and competitions) in dog sports. He organizes German championships for the individual dog sports and delegates starters to international tests.
The dhv is an amalgamation of various associations and serves them as an umbrella organization. The member associations are:
- Southwest German Dog Sports Association (swhv)
- Dog Sports Club Rhein-Main (HSVRM)
- Bavarian State Association for Dog Sports (BLV)
- Protection and Working Dog Sports Association (SGSV)
- German Sports Dog Association (DSV)
- Federal Association of Rescue Dogs (BRH)
The German Association of Working Dog Sports Associations (DVG) was a member of dhv until December 31, 2012 and has been a direct member of the Association for the German Dog Industry since January 1, 2013 .
