Game types

Block start is mandatory for all individual, couple and team competitions; in exceptional cases chain start can be played. In team competitions, all players must play the same lanes. With all types of play there is a compulsory alley, which means that pins 1, 2 or 4 (left alley) or 1, 3 or 6 (right alley) must be brought down by direct ball action. The players are responsible for the correct bowling position and the throw in the correct alley. A maximum of twelve minutes is available for 30 litters. If this time is exceeded through the fault of the player, the round is over.

Game implementation

Individual and team competitions are held in combination.

Railway systems

Games may only be carried out on track systems that have been approved in accordance with the technical regulations of the DKB. In principle, only material that has been approved by the DKB may be used. Track systems on which state championships or German championships are held must be equipped with a totalizator.

Play area

The play area has a size of 5.50 m - 6.50 m × 1.45 m and must be marked with boundary lines (5 cm wide white line), whereby the ventilation rail is to be seen as a marking on the side. If the rear boundary line is missing, the start of the contact surface is considered the boundary. The contact surfaces must be non-slip.

Tools

It is not allowed to make any markings on the lanes and the play area. The use of aids on shoes and contact surfaces is prohibited. For a better grip, only aids approved and sold by the DSKB / DKB are allowed on the hands.

Bullets

Youngsters U14 must play with the 14 ball. The 16 ball is mandatory for all other classes. The DSKB allows you to play with your own balls. If there is a ball return for each lane, three correct balls of the same color must be placed on each lane. If there is only one ball return for a double track, at least five correct balls of the same color are required.
