German wine quality band

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Wine Quality Band is a quality mark for German wines that is awarded by the German Agricultural Society (DLG). In contrast to the top wines of the state award for wine and sparkling wine (Chamber Prize coin), Güteband wines can be found in many supermarkets.

Wines that are awarded the German Wine Quality Band must meet various quality criteria.

The introduction of the quality band was supposed to replace the German wine seal , as this is now considered obsolete in its expressiveness. In the case of the quality band wines, u. a. introduced the taste profile of the wine on the back label in the form of a 4x4 matrix with certain taste criteria, which has more expressiveness.
