The German swimming pass is a three-stage qualification in swimming . The exams for the swimming badges can be taken by children, adolescents and adults regardless of age.

The examination performance is specified in the "German Swimming Examination Regulations". This is published by the swimming associations that are part of the Federal Association for the Promotion of Swimming Education (BFS).

German swimming pass since 2020

The performance of the three-stage German swimming badge, which has been issued since January 1, 2020, is described in an amendment to the German Swimming Examination Regulations. Some of them have been reformulated and made more specific and, above all, tightened for the bronze badge. The differentiation of the times to be achieved according to the age of the test object was given up. The design of the badges was taken over from the German Youth Swimming Pass.
