The German Packaging Institute eV (dvi) is a non-profit association . The institute is committed to networking and developing the packaging industry .

purpose

The association networks the packaging industry and the consumer goods industry and creates overarching impulses . The dvi do so on three different levels: It spreads for professionals and the general public with relevant information, Counterpart brings together the mutually valuable and deeper insights ( " Insights ") can mediate and makes forward-looking processes of the packaging industry visible to their development to promote.

history

The association was founded in 1990 by Dieter Berndt (1938–2013) from the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin and Günter Grundke from the University of Technology, Economics and Culture in Leipzig .

organization

The association is organized as a non-profit association based in Berlin. Its board of directors is elected from among the members of the dvi. According to its statutes , the board of directors should reflect the breadth of the packaging industry.

Membership structure

The members come from all sub-sectors of the packaging industry, such as B. packaging machine construction, packaging material and packaging manufacture, packaging industry (branded goods), trade, recycling and disposal. A few university and research institutions are also members.

implementation

The association regularly implements its goals in the following initiatives, among others:

  • German Packaging Congress : Industry summit and network meeting for those responsible and decision-makers from industry, trade and branded goods
  • Dresden Packaging Conference : Network meeting point and dialogue platform for decision-makers and project managers from industry, science and research
  • Packaging Day : Informs the public about the services of packaging and the packaging industry.
  • Expert rounds : Discussion rounds to exchange subject-specific information and to deal with issues.
  • Packaging Academy : Subject-specific further training institution
  • German Packaging Award: Awards for innovative and creative packaging ideas across industries and materials.
  • Packvision : Future competition for innovative packaging concepts and trend-setting packaging designs that are created in cooperation between companies and students.
  • to.get.net : Internet-based social network for the packaging industry
  • Packaging Strategies Forum : Strategy forum for company leaders in the packaging industry with a focus on mechanical engineering and automation
