history
The German bantam was bred by Wilhelm Müller from 1911 to 1917 from pairings between bantam and dwarf phoenix , later supplemented by country dwarf chickens and Old English dwarf fighters and exhibited for the first time in 1917.

The German bantam is a flexible, agile and lively original dwarf chicken .
Shape and head
The German bantam has a cylindrical trunk that is carried horizontally. The cock's tail is well stocked with major and minor sickles that do not touch the ground. The wings close with the end of the body. The chest is slightly arched and the stand is hardly medium high. The comb should have a noble, even serration and a free-standing comb flag. The eye color is bright dark red, the ear discs white and the wattles as small as possible.

There are numerous colors in the German bantam: wild-colored, gold-necked, orange-necked, silver-necked, blue-gold-necked, blue-orange-necked, blue-silver-necked, red-saddled, white, black, pearl gray, isabel-pearl gray columbia, yellow, gold-porcelain-colored, black and white pied, White-black columbia, yellow-black columbia and birch colored.

The roosters weigh between 750 and 800 g, while the hens weigh around 600 g. The shell color of the eggs is white. The hens lay 80 to 100 eggs per year. Hatching eggs must have a minimum weight of 30 g.
