German-language specialist instruction
German-speaking subject teaching (DFU) is a term for subject teaching (as opposed to language teaching) in German as a foreign language , i.e. for German-language teaching in mathematics , biology , chemistry and physics as well as other subjects for learners of other native languages.
Materials for the DFU

- DFU-Cockpit: over one hundred different worksheets can be downloaded here free of charge and used in lessons. The worksheets are thematically summarized in the so-called "DFU topic booklets". They are currently available for the subjects of biology, chemistry and physics; additional subjects such as history and geography will be included in the near future. There are additional working materials for educational films and specialist projects.
DFU in Turkey
At schools with German as a foreign language there are DFU z. B. in Turkey at Turkish-speaking schools with German as the first foreign language . While there were still several so-called Anadolu Lisesi with DFU in the 1990s , there are currently only two:
- Bornova Anadolu Lisesi in Izmir
- Cağaloğlu Anadolu Lisesi in Istanbul
DFU occupies a special position at the Istanbul Lisesi in Istanbul. At schools with German as their mother tongue, DFU is also available in the foreign-language branches of the schools with German as their mother tongue . These are:
- German School Istanbul (Alman Lisesi)
- Austrian St. Georgs College, Istanbul
