Devil Reveals ( English : The devil reveals himself ) is the second studio album by the German thrash metal band Cripper . It was released on June 16, 2009 via SAOL / H'Art, an independent label from Hanover . Also, Devil Reveals is the first album that Cripper got support from a distribution and promotion agency.

Emergence

After the band was able to find a record label with the album Freak Inside from 2007, through which Freak Inside was re-released in 2008, they wrote material for a new album. From old demo recordings and the previous album there were still a few songs left that the band had not yet recorded. The songs for Devil Reveals were created on the basis of these ideas . The recordings for the album took place in Hanover from March to April 2009.

reception

The press saw the album as a big step in the band's development. The significantly improved sound compared to its predecessor is particularly emphasized. But also in the area of songwriting and playing technique the band is certified a clear improvement.

"" Devil Reveals "is a groundbreaking Thrash record, not only for the band themselves, but also for fans"

- metal.de

However, there was also negative criticism from some quarters. The Metal Hammer states that Görtz cannot keep up with the development of the rest of the band vocally and has problems with more demanding passages.
