Dewingrad

The fortress of Devingrad ( Bulgarian Девинград ) in Veliko Tarnovo is located on the hill of the same name in the former capital of Bulgaria . It was the third most important castle of the Second Bulgarian Empire after Tsarevets and Trapesitsa .

According to some archaeologists, the Thracian city of Dewa existed on the hill. There are many Roman finds on the hill. There were two gates to the fortress. Many craftsmen and blacksmiths lived on the hill.
