Decider Kardoš

Dezider Kardoš (born December 23, 1914 in Nadlice , † March 18, 1991 in Bratislava ) was a Slovak composer .

Kardoš studied from 1933 to 1937 at the Bratislava Conservatory and then until 1939 with Vítězslav Novák in Prague . From 1945 to 1952 he was head of the radio music department in Prešov and Bratislava, then head of the Slovak Philharmonic . From 1961 to 1984 he taught composition at the Bratislava Music Academy.

Kardoš composed seven symphonies , a symphonic prelude , an East Slovak prelude , a hero ballad , an orchestral concert, a concerto for string orchestra, a concerto for violin, harp and strings, chamber music works, cantatas , choral works, songs and film scores.
