Dhawee Umponmaha

Dhawee Umponmaha ( Thai ทวี อัมพร มหา ; born November 15, 1959 in Amphoe Mueang Rayong ) is a former Thai boxer and Muay Thai fighter.

Dhawee was bronze medalist at the 1983 World Cup in Rome . In the same year he won the silver medal of the Asian Games behind the Asian champions from 1982 Kim Dong-Kil, South Korea . At the 1984 Olympic Games , Dhawee reached after victories over Jaslal Pradhan, India (5: 0), Charles Owiso, Kenya (3: 2), David Griffiths, United Kingdom (4: 1), Jorge Maysonet, Puerto Rico (5: 0 ), and Mircea Fulger , Romania (5-0), the final. In this he faced Jerry Page , USA , to whom he was defeated with 5: 0 votes and thus won the Olympic silver medal in the light welterweight division .

In Muay Thai , Dhawee fought under the name Khaopong Sitthichuchai .
