Dhiffushi ( Dhivehi : ދިއްފުށ) is an island of the Maldives belonging to the North Malé Atoll ( Kaafu Administrative Atoll ) . It is located approx. 200 m south of Meerufenfushi . The island is 950 m long, 200 m wide and has an area of 22.4 hectares , of which 6.4 hectares are through land reclamation .
Dhiffushi is an island inhabited by Maldivians (so-called "local island") and was previously only allowed to be visited as part of organized tours. Since inns are also allowed on the Local Islands, you can also spend your holidays there. There are already several inns, all of which have a different concept, and more are under construction.
The population is 1050 (as of March 2007).
