Dhiyab bin Isa bin Nahyan Al Nahyan ( Arabic ذياب بن عيسى بن نهيان آل نهيان, DMG Ḏiyāb b. Eesa ibn Nahyan Al Nahyan ) was 1761 to 1793 the Sheikh of Abu Dhabi and the founder of Al-Abu-Falah - dynasty , which ruled until today Abu Dhabi. He was the leader of the Bani-Yas Tribal Alliance.

A hunting party sent by him, which set out from the Liwa oasis on the edge of the Rub al-Chali , chased a gazelle in 1761, which led it to an island in the Persian Gulf , where it found a source of fresh water. This gazelle gave Abu Dhabi its name, which translated means something like father of the gazelle . Around 1791 Dhiyab ordered his son Shachbut to move to the island and build a village and a fort ( Qasr Al Hosn ) there.
