In Germany it is a recognized training occupation according to the Vocational Training Act , but which is not assigned to any professional field.

The three-year training as a diamond cutter is a classic dual vocational training and takes place alternately in the company and in the vocational school. While all theoretical basics such as crystal technology, crystal chemistry and crystal physics are taught in the vocational school, practical work is carried out in companies in the jewelry industry, jewelers, studios and manufacturers of diamond tools. In the third year of training, you will eventually either specialize in jewelery diamonds or industrial diamonds.
