Dian Schefold

Dian Schefold (born March 6, 1936 in Munich ) is a Swiss lawyer and professor emeritus for law at the University of Bremen .

Life

Dian Schefold was born as the son of the archaeologist Karl Schefold .

He studied in Basel , Berlin and Rome and received his doctorate from Max Imboden in Basel . Schefold completed his habilitation at the Free University of Berlin and taught there from 1970 to 1980. In 1980 he was appointed to the University of Bremen, where he taught at Faculty 6 (Law) until his retirement in 2001. He held visiting professorships at Italian universities, including Rome, and also in Paris .

He dealt with local law , self-government , federalism and party law, as well as Italian-German comparative law in constitutional law and the recent history of state theories .
