Diana Leesalu (born November 1, 1982 in Põlva ) is an Estonian writer for young people and a dramaturge.

Life

Diana Leesalu graduated from Põlva in 2001 and graduated in 2005 from the Estonian University of Environmental Sciences in Tartu. She then studied dramaturgy at the Estonian Academy of Music and Drama , which she graduated in 2012. Since then she has been working as a dramaturge at the Tallinn City Theater .

Leesalu made his debut in 2005 with the youth novel Zwei Gramm bis zurämmerung , the title of which refers to the amount that separates an adolescent who has fallen into a drug environment from death. The book was shortlisted for the Betti Alver Debut Prize. Her next novel, Game, is Seriously Themed Bullying in School, and in 2006 she won first prize in the youth book competition. Your third book uses the classic motif of entering another (fantasy) world through a mysterious gate.
