As is a daily Spanish sports newspaper from Madrid . The name of the journal is also used in the spellings as and AS .
It appeared for the first time on December 6, 1967. Already from 1932 to 1936 there was a magazine with a similar name with the Semanario Gráfico As .
In 1996 As was sold by the Montiel media group to the PRISA group.
In 2006, the average daily circulation was 214,654 copies; this puts As in second place behind Marca . As is received by an average of one million readers every day.
As is characterized by a clear sympathy for Real Madrid and other clubs in the Madrid area ( Atlético , Getafe ). It is in competition with the Marca .
