El Diario Vasco ( Spanish for "Das Baskische Tageblatt" ) is a regional daily newspaper in the northern Spanish province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque Country and based in San Sebastián . El Diario Vasco belongs to the Vocento media group and, with a daily circulation of 86,053 copies, is the most important daily newspaper in Gipuzkoa. The newspaper describes itself as bilingual. In fact, 90% of the content is Spanish and only 10% is Basque . The paper is published in ten regional editions.

El Diario Vasco was founded on November 27, 1934 by the Sociedad Vascongada de Publicaciones . In 1945 the newspaper was bought by the rival group El Correo Español .
